Askog 22 days ago Dude has mastered the art of one-dimensional, ball-achingly dull tedium. You'll be treated to the same two plays; a short side-backspin serve delivered as closely as possible to the net and table edge in the hope you'll pop it up just enough for a topspin loop across the other side of the table. If that fails, you'll enter a highly stimulating war of "who can choppy-float the ball across the net without messing up first." I suffered through 5 matches of this tripe in the hope I could learn how to counter this dark art; admittedly, the 600+ hours he has spent in the game perfecting this mind-numbing bore of attrition paid dividends as I wasn’t able to beat him on his terms. This was actually fine and I only blamed myself for not being going to deal with it but in a clear case of psychological projection, he then enabled his mic to chastise me for "being boring", just after I realised he was left-handed. I started sending fast forehand serves and played to his backhand, exposing his weakness. But this was apparently unacceptable on my part, the strategy turning the game around, 11-4, in my favour. He accused me of "just wanting to win." When I laughed and challenged his hypocrisy, he cheekily told me "that was the game" and went on to describe his play as if it had as much variation as a Brazilian LGBTQ+ street festival. I recommend this player only if you are the kind of person who likes having his testicles nailed to a wall rather than a flowing and invogorating game of table tennis.
